WA-5 Draft 1

Dear Barack H. Obama,

As the 44th president of the United States of America, please lend me your ear when I ask of you a simple request. I am speaking for the nation and its wellbeing for the present and the future. American citizens have a lack of support from each other because the country does not have a full understanding of each person’s needs. In order for this nation to be unified, the needs of its citizens need to be met.

As America’s newest president, I hope that you give your best effort to unify this county by appealing to everyone and anyone in any way possible. If the citizens cannot be supported on many levels, then they will not be able to trust their neighbors and government. If you are capable of acting or speaking to the people for the benefit of this country, then I must implore that you do so.

In this time of war, the nation’s ideas of government have been divided. Since we have a new president with new ideas, the functioning of the government and society will change. These changes should be for the benefit of the country and its people.

I ask that you, as the new president of the United States, will accomplish these changes as you planned on in your campaign. But when deciding on these changes, please do not act just for the advantage of the country and its citizens, but also what is morally right. Change should happen for what is right, what our founding fathers built this great nation upon. It should not occur to please popular demand or try a modern and appealing thought. If this country made preparations for change, then it must be for what is right stated by the founders of this nation.

Sincerely,
Leah Paschal
